Our mini Charity Health Check reviews 9 key areas of charity functioning and gives you high and medium priority recommendations to take forward*

  • One day onsite or remote with your staff and Board, including up to 6 hours of consultation and 1 final hour to deliver the key recommendations

  • Internal report (typically 25-30 pages) including 2-page Executive Summary, priority-ranked recommendations, situational analysis and history and full organisational review focussing on where action is required in the following areas:

    • approach to digital

    • communications

    • partnership working, and

    • volunteers.

    Your report includes practical and helpful recommendations made for future action, ranked in accordance with priority level and theme.

Extended Charity Health Check

The extended Charity Health Check ensures that all relevant stakeholders are consulted, and is a good choice when the charity wants to ensure full staff and stakeholder engagement or to begin steps towards a new strategic plan.


  • Full desktop review of charity documents, including annual report, constitution, strategic plan and key policies

  • Two days on-site consulting with Trustees, staff, volunteers, beneficiaries and other stakeholders through face-to-face interviews, focus groups and meetings

  • Up to half a day consulting via phone or Skype with those who could not be onsite

  • Electronic survey for volunteers, staff, beneficiaries or stakeholders, depending on need.

  • Situational analysis, positive and negative behaviour review, and review of charity's history to meet BLF requirements

  • Detailed report (35-50 pages), including 2-3 page Executive Summary, priority-ranked recommendations, situational analysis and history and full organisational review covering all the Health Check headings.

  • Presenting report to the Board via skype or telephone = additional £200

  • Presenting report at a Board meeting = additional £200 + travel time + expenses
